The south beach diet is composed of three balanced meals
a day. On the southbeach diet you can eat until your
hunger is satisfied. It allows you to have snacks mid
morning and mid afternoon and on the south beach diet
you can eat dessert after dinner. The south beach diet
does not require you to count calories, fats, carbohydrates
or proteins and does not regulate your portion size.
You can lose weight faster if you are active but the
southbeach diet plan does not require you to exercise
in order to get results.
The
south beach diet plan was developed by Dr. Arthur Agatston,
a cardiologist, who prescribed this diet for his patient’s
with heart disease. This diet has been scientifically
studied and proven effective for losing weight and for
creating and maintaining a healthy cardiovascular system.
The south beach diet emphasizes eating good carbs like
fruits, vegetables and whole grains and excludes bad
carbs which make you gain weight.
There
are 3 phases to the south beach diet. Phase 1 lasts
for two weeks and is the strictest banning bread, rice,
potatoes, pasta, baked goods and fruit. After two weeks
you move to phase 2 and will remain in that phase until
you reach your goal for weight loss. Phase 3 of the
south beach diet lasts the rest of your life and helps
you to maintain your ideal weight. |
